For schools
Bring the campaign to your school.
For one week, your school collects non-perishable food. At the end we check every donation, pack everything into crates and hand it over to the local Tafel, Germany's network of food banks.
What you need
Less than you think.
-
Time
One week
One school week for collecting. Ideally not during the holidays or exam season.
-
Place
A room for collecting
A room where donations are collected during the week and can stay until counting day.
-
Kick-off
One hour in the assembly hall
For the pitch: the campaign is introduced and we show our short video.
What we take care of
We plan the rest with you.
Good to know: Jam The Van is currently being set up as a registered association. Its charitable status has not been recognised yet, so we cannot issue donation receipts yet.
-
Planning
We go through the process with you and agree on the dates.
-
Pitch video
A short video for the assembly hall, so every class knows what it is about.
-
Materials
Templates for the parent letter, the classroom poster and texts for your channels.
-
Counting day
We count everything and look at every item: unopened and still good?
-
Handover
We pack everything into crates. The local food bank picks them up.
How it works
Four steps to the food bank.
-
Pitch
The week before, the campaign is introduced in the assembly hall, with a short video.
-
Collection week
For one week, students bring non-perishable food and toiletries.
-
Counting day
We check every donation. Last time this took about six hours.
-
Handover
First photos with the classes, then the food bank picks up the crates.
